This necklace is a collection of extraordinary parts.

Sea: The center of the focal is a brilliant pyritized ammonite (rare to come by and a pretty penny in of itself). The ammonite is a fossil that has been naturally replaced by pyrite over millions of years. The chambers of the fossil are full of tiny crystals, in shades of metallic green and bronze.

Air: Surrounding the spiral ammonite are three green spokes. The top two are actual beetle wings (called "elytra") of the jewel beetle. The beetle is quite common in parts of the world, and eaten by some. At the bottom of the focal hangs a single tiny feather, naturally dropped from a friend's green conure.

Earth: Instead of a premade clasp, I opted to make a toggle closure from a loop of beads and two brass rings. It makes the necklace look like it's been around for many generations, and since brass comes from the earth, it completes my desire to combine three worlds into one piece.
